Sunscreen is a must for New Hampshire summers, but which one is best for your health and for the health of the planet? We've tried lots of eco-friendly sunscreens over the last ten years and I can recommend Raw Elements hands down as our best find. Why?
First, it meets our environmental and health standards. The sunscreen itself is reef-safe, cruelty-free, non-GMO, and biodegradable, and the packaging is plastic-free. The sunscreen contains no synthetic chemicals and uses non-nano Zinc Oxide. It is made with organic and certified natural ingredients.
Second, it comes in a recyclable, reusable, refillable tin. I have reused our tins at We Fill Good for lotion, deodorant, and other creamy products. It would also make a nice container for small change, travel necessities, or any other small collections.
Third, it spreads really nicely. We've suffered through lots of chunky, thick eco-friendly sunscreens and this one is so easy to spread and easy to rub in. It's also easy to get every last bit of it because it comes in such a great container. No wasted sunscreen here!
This sunscreen sells for $17 for a 3 ounce tin, so it's definitely an investment in your health and the planet, but a necessary one. I would also very much recommend pairing Raw Elements sunscreen with SPF clothing, wide hats, and good sense (staying inside or in the shade during the hottest hours of the day).
